- Here’s a quick video on how to use a melon baller. It took some quick practicing to get the hang of it. Remember that where you start with the melon baller once you sink it into the melon’s flesh, to complete a full-circle: Triangle Kitchen Tools, Fruit Decorator & Spoon, Mellon Baller
- Another beautiful way to present an assortment of colorful melon balls: Use the cleaned out melon’s shell as a dish to fill with the melon balls.
There’s no “real” recipe for this serving arrangement. It’s more of an idea for another elegant way to serve fruit.
Serves 2
1/2 Cantaloupe Melon (seeds removed)
1/2 Honeydew Melon (seeds removed)
1/2 Watermelon (preferably seedless)
4-6 fresh mint leaves (chiffonade – see directions)
Special Tools
Melon Baller
Using a melon baller, scoop the melon’s flesh into balls. Place the assorted melon balls in a large bowl.
Stack mint leaves on top of each other and roll lengthwise. Slice crosswise as thinly as possible to chiffonade. Sprinkle the mint chiffonade over melon and gently stir to mix.
Portion the melon balls evenly between two individual serving dishes. For best flavors to come through from the melons, serve cool, but not cold.

Oh those melon balls are too cute. I have used mint in fruit salad for years and it is miraculous the difference it makes. Always get comments about the ‘secret ingredient’
