Slow Cooker – Bacon Ale Jam – Bacon Beer Jam

Slow Cooker Bacon Ale Jam recipe -

Is it true that everything is better with bacon (the same could be said of "butter")? It must be true because this bacon ale jam sure puts a tasty, sophisticated but rustic spin on a sandwich or used as a condiment spread on a crusty baguette. I've been looking for a good beer bacon jam recipe, but haven't found one to my liking after reading through other recipes. I've reworked this one and am confident it's a sure winner...

Do you have fond childhood memories of a simmering bowl of chicken and dumplings made by your mom, grandmother, or some other angelic person that was present in your younger years? Cajun Stew with Shrimp and Kielbasa recipe |

Is it Cajun Stew or Cajun Jambalaya? I'm not sure which it is, but whatever it is, it turned out fantastic!   Slow cooking the vegetables and spices with the kielbasa made the soup come together in a rich flavored broth. There are so many goodies in this stew that every spoonful is a palate delight. This is the first time I've used kielbasa or okra. My local market had a very sad sampling of fresh okra. They really should pull their sad and ugly okra offerings from their produce bin. Frozen okra stood in and it proved not to disappoint. I've made this twice during the last week, testing

Hearty and Comforting Beef Stew

Hearty and Comforting Beef Stew recipe |

Colder, rainy weather arrived this week in Southern California. The need for something fuller bodied and truly comforting was in order. If you've ever used a slow cooker or slow cooked a flavorful meal for a lengthy amount of time, you no doubt have experienced the enticing and delicious aromas that fill the kitchen and make it's way throughout the house. Notice that the ingredients do not call for the addition of water or broth to be added for the stew's body (in the slow cooker method). I was concerned that the stew would be stark dry. I'm glad to report that I was so WRONG! Layer the
